A visit to the Historic Navajo County Courthouse that serves an official Arizona Information Center and houses the Navajo County Historical Society’s Museum, is definitely a trip to the past. Some visitors even relate that it is like visiting Grandma’s attic.

It appears that someone tried to shoot the elk and missed. There is another bullet hole in the painting much further from the target. Goes to show that drinking does not make a person a better marksman.

Painting
Pioneer Quilt Quilt was started in the late 1880’s and finally completed in 1952. Most the families listed on the quilt are either first settlers or decendents of the first settlers.

There is something for most everyone. Currently in need for volunteers to help develop future exhibits from 1800’s to the 1950’s for the following: Route 66 Exhibit expansion. We have 1.5 years to complete the exhibit to celebrate 100 years in 2026. ***If you have any other suggestions on displays, please submit in writing to the Museum - must be from the surrounding Holbrook area, 1800’s to around the 1970’s. Further details will discussed after written recommendation.
